Red-Tail Hawk Weeklong Overnight Adventure

Dates: July 12-16

Time: 9 a.m. Monday to 3 p.m. Friday

Age range: Nature-loving children ages 10-13 who are emotionally and physically prepared for an exciting week away from home.

Location: Flying Deer Nature Center at the Abode of the Message community, New Lebanon, NY

To Bring: A complete list will be given upon enrollment; however, campers will generally be asked to bring all personal camping gear (sleeping bag, flashlight, etc.) as well as a bag in which they can carry their gear up to three-quarters of a mile.

Each of the two Red-Tail Hawk Clans will be an intimate group of 8 to10 campers who will spend five days and four nights on the land, taking their naturalist skills and relationships with each other and themselves to new heights. Campers will arrive Monday morning and know the forest as their home until Friday afternoon. They will utilize skills such as shelter-making, fire-making, primitive cooking, and camp crafts in a nurturing community.
